A great week of netball success

A fabulous week of netball results started last Monday with the Year 7 team

A fabulous week of netball results started last Monday with the Year 7 team drawing a very tight match 4-4 and the Year 8s managing a highly convincing 16-2 win, both against Orton Longueville School.  Girl of the game for the Year 7s was Robyn Chapman-Burn and Darcy Skelton for the Year 8s.

Girls from the Preparatory Department then went to Brooke Priory in Oakham on Wednesday for a tournament.  Their first match was against Leicester Grammar whose amazing defence was very difficult to break down at first.  Once The Peterborough School got ahead with some excellent shooting, our defence became inpenetrable and we won the match 8-0.

The second match was against Brooke Priory and was very even but a last-second goal made the difference and we won 2-1.  Our final game was against an All Stars team consisting of the reserve players from each of the competing schools, which we won comfortably 7-1.

The team showed excellent skills in both defence and attack with consistent shooting helping them to end the tournament as unbeaten champions on 15 points.  All the players were awarded gold medals.  Girls of each game were Amanjot Wahiwala, Upasana Das and Sophie Howard.
